Reporting to the Manager, Project Management, you will take projects from idea to impact in close partnership with departments across Egale. You will streamline processes, drive operational efficiency, collaborate with leaders and cross-functional teams, and mentor junior team members.

You will own the project life cycle end-to-end, ensuring standards are followed, risks are managed, and the right subject matter experts are at the table. Working alongside Egale’s program and operational teams, you will help deliver research, education, awareness, and legal advocacy initiatives that advance 2SLGBTQI communities in Canada and around the world.

We believe that leading complex, high-impact projects requires both focused execution and intentional rest. This is a Full-Time, 24 Month contract, unionized position that operates on our leading-edge Four-Day Workweek model. You get the stability and compensation of a 40-hour role with the capacity-building benefits of a 34-hour schedule.


What You’ll Lead

  • You’ll lead projects from idea to impact, ensuring they are delivered with clarity, accountability, and purpose.
  • Deliver projects on time and on budget, aligned to organizational priorities
  • Lead the full project lifecycle: initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and close-out
  • Establish governance structures to support successful implementation
  • Develop and manage project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocations
  • Ensure project documentation and lifecycle standards are consistently met
  • Engage subject matter experts and stakeholders throughout project delivery
  • Manage vendors and collaborators to ensure successful outcomes
  • Identify risks and issues early, and implement timely solutions
  • Lead project evaluation frameworks and apply insights to future work
  • Facilitate project and team meetings to monitor progress and address challenges
  • Contribute to improving processes, tools, and templates with a focus on impact and efficiency
  • Participate in external committees, consultations, and knowledge-sharing activities
  • Mentor and support junior team members

What You’ll Bring

You bring experience, perspective, and expertise shaped by your academic, professional, and lived experience. Here’s what we’re looking for in this role.

Education

  • University degree in a relevant field is required
  • Master of Business Administration (MBA) is strongly preferred
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is strongly preferred
  • Additional project management certifications are considered an asset

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in a Project Manager role within a PMO or similar environment is required
  • Experience delivering projects with increasing complexity and scope
  • Strong experience managing stakeholder relationships, including senior leadership
  • Experience managing vendors and cross-functional teams
  • Experience with financial management related to projects (tracking, forecasting, reconciliation, reporting)
  • Background in non-profit, social impact, healthcare, or older adult care sectors is an asset

Knowledge

  • Familiarity with the key social and structural issues facing 2SLGBTQI communities
  • Advanced knowledge of project management methodologies, practices, and principles
  • Experience with project, program, and portfolio management approaches
  • Strong understanding of financial management as it relates to projects (tracking, forecasting, reconciliation, reporting)
  • Awareness of project management trends and emerging best practices
