Job Summary
As a Senior Data Engineer/Analyst at Durable, you will be at the forefront of shaping our data infrastructure and insights, driving decisions that support the growth and scaling of our AI-powered solutions for small business owners. Combining your expertise in data analysis and engineering, you will design, build, and maintain scalable data systems while working closely with various teams to extract actionable insights. You will play a critical role in building cohort analyses using tools like Segment and Amplitude, ensuring data integrity, and enabling the organization to make data-driven decisions that directly impact our product and marketing strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Data Analysis- Perform in-depth data analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and actionable insights for product, marketing, and business teams.
- Build and analyze customer cohorts using tools like Amplitude and Segment to understand user behavior, product usage, and lifecycle trends.
- Develop reports, dashboards, and data visualizations to support decision-making across the organization.
- Collaborate with marketing, product, and engineering teams to define and address data requirements for new projects and ongoing initiatives.
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Javascript and cloud-based solutions (e.g., AWS, GCP).
- Manage ETL processes, ensuring efficient and accurate data collection and transformation.
- Optimize data models and databases to support both real-time and batch data analysis.
- Maintain data integrity, quality, and governance through automated validation processes.
- Build and refine cohort analyses that provide insights into user segmentation, retention, and engagement trends.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support growth strategies, user acquisition efforts, and retention campaigns using data-driven insights.
- Provide recommendations to improve customer experience, operational performance, and revenue generation.
- Partner with engineers and business stakeholders to develop data-driven solutions that meet the evolving needs of the business.
- Continuously seek out and implement new tools and technologies to improve data processing, storage, and analysis capabilities.
- Ensure compliance with best practices for data security, privacy, and governance throughout the data lifecycle.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in data analysis, data engineering, or similar roles in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with data analysis tools such as Segment, Amplitude, and Google Analytics for cohort building and user behavior tracking.
- Strong command of Python and Javascript for data manipulation, scripting, and pipeline development.
- Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, and data warehousing solutions such as Redshift, BigQuery, or Snowflake.
- Proficiency with NoSQL databases like MongoDB and Redis.
- Solid understanding of ETL processes and scalable data pipeline architecture.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex data insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building and analyzing customer cohorts to drive product and marketing decisions.
- Familiarity with additional data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
- Understanding of data governance, privacy best practices, and compliance standards.
- Exposure to machine learning models, statistical analysis, and natural language processing (NLP).
- Experience working in a startup environment, contributing to building and scaling data systems from scratch.
