Custodian/Cleaner

Residential Building Cleaner/Custodian

Full time (Monday to Friday 8am - 4pm)

Job Responsibilities:

• Responsible for basic cleaning of common areas in and around a multi-story residential apartment building, including vacuuming, sweeping and mopping floors, dusting, cleaning windows and glass, etc.
• Cleaning apartment units when tenants move out, including:
• Kitchens: fridge, stove, dishwasher, cabinets, sink, counter tops, floors etc.
• Cleaning bathrooms including tubs, showers, tiles, floors, sinks, toilets, etc
• Emptying trash and replacing liners.
• Setting up, stocking, and maintaining cleaning equipment and supplies.
• Monitoring and maintaining cleanliness and organization of assigned areas.
• Performing additional duties as needed

Qualifications / Skills:

• Ability to lift 23 kg/50 lbs
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
• Highly responsible & reliable
• Ability to work cohesively as part of a team

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
• Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the provisions that apply to this work including WHMIS.
• Previous residential apartment building cleaning experience required (3 years)
