Strategist, Future Strategy & Innovation

Future Strategy and InnovationFull TimeRemote

Dig Insights unites strategy, human understanding, and technology to help brands move decisively, in a world that won’t wait. We work with insights and marketing professionals at some of the world’s most well-loved brands, powering their brand and innovation decision-making. Dig One is our agile technology platform, used by our people and our clients, to deliver smarter and faster decisions.

Our clients span verticals including CPG, QSR, retail, technology, financial services, and telecommunications. Our work is led by a team of over 250 strategists, insights consultants, developers, and data scientists. We work for a global client base out of offices in Toronto, Chicago, London, and Singapore.

Since we started in 2010, we’ve been focused on setting a new standard for the insights industry – challenging the traditional model and building for what comes next. That means hiring people who are bright, creative, resourceful, and kind. People who succeed at Dig are curious, question established norms and are passionate about helping our clients to move their businesses forward. If you want to join a team that takes themselves just seriously enough to produce great work, we’d love to welcome you.

As we continue to grow, both geographically and in our expertise, we are looking for people who want to join a high-growth and highly collaborative company.

This role is open to candidates across the U.S. and Canada.

About the Role

We are looking for a Strategist to join our FS &I Team. This is a mid-level, individual-contributor role reporting into senior FS&I leadership. You will drive research and trend analysis, develop sharp insights and compelling narratives, and partner closely with senior team members to deliver high-impact work for clients across a range of industries. It’s a role for a naturally curious “big-picture” thinker who can back up bold ideas with rigorous evidence.

Key Responsibilities

Research & Foresight

  • Conduct primary and secondary research to identify emerging trends, cultural shifts, and future challenges across a range of industries and sectors.
  • Analyze diverse signal sources — including academic reports, patents, whitepapers, and environmental, economic, and cultural data — to build a rigorous evidence base.
  • Apply innovation and foresight frameworks to explore emerging ideas and surface real, in-market examples of how trends are manifesting and reshaping culture.

Strategy & Insight Development

  • Develop strategic foresight and implementation plans spanning design, business, policy, and organizational change.
  • Translate research into sharp, “sticky” insights and growth opportunities that drive measurable value for clients.
  • Craft compelling narratives within trend reports that help solve complex problems and illuminate new opportunities.

Client Delivery & Facilitation

  • Participate in building well-structured perspectives and presentations for clients and stakeholders.
  • Help organize and facilitate workshops and working sessions with clients.
  • Partner with senior team members to scope, execute, and deliver high-quality project work on time and on brief.

Collaboration

  • Collaborate with cross-functional qualitative and quantitative research teams to develop innovative solutions that address clients’ future needs and challenges.

What You Bring

Required

  • 3-5 years of experience in foresight, trends, strategy, innovation, or market research.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize academic reports, patents, whitepapers, and environmental/economic data into clear conclusions.
  • Hands-on experience applying innovation and foresight frameworks.
  • Excellent storytelling and report-writing skills, with the ability to shape research into a compelling narrative.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including persuasive presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to manage time, juggle multiple projects, and deliver under pressure.

Preferred / Nice to Have

  • Qualitative research experience.
  • Familiarity with trend and innovation platforms such as Miro, Glystn, NWO.ai, Spate, and Feedly.
  • A “big idea” mindset — able to reframe problems and spot white space others miss.

Attributes We Value

  • Insatiable curiosity
  • Critical thinking
  • Proactivity and a self-starter mentality
  • Collaborative and open-minded
  • A strong, confident communicator
  • Adaptable and comfortable with ambiguity
  • Coachable and open to feedback

Work Perks:

  • A hybrid-remote work environment, where employees have the flexibility to work remotely or from one of our offices
  • Unlimited vacation policy
  • Reimbursement for health and wellness classes/memberships and continuous learning
  • RRSP / 401K employer matching program
  • Offices in Toronto and Chicago, located steps to public transportation in the downtown core
  • Regular social events such as charity poker nights, trivia events, team building days, and more!
