Intern, Product Designer – About this role
We're looking for a curious, craft-driven Product Designer Co-op to join our growing design team. You'll work alongside product managers, engineers, and researchers to shape experiences that real users depend on every day. This isn't a "make coffee and watch" kind of role — you'll own meaningful work from day one and have a direct impact on our product.
Your primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Contribute to the full design process, from early discovery through polished, production-ready UI.
- Conduct and synthesize user research — interviews, usability tests, and competitive analysis — to inform design decisions.
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups that clearly communicate interactions and visual intent.
- Collaborate closely with product managers to align on goals and engineers to ensure feasibility and quality implementation.
- Present your work to cross-functional stakeholders and incorporate feedback iteratively.
- Help maintain and evolve our design system, ensuring consistency across the product.
- Participate in design critiques and contribute to a culture of craft and feedback.
Experience, skills, and requirements:
- Currently enrolled in a degree program in Interaction Design, UX Design, HCI, Graphic Design, or a related field.
- A portfolio demonstrating strong visual design sensibility and thoughtful UX problem-solving (class and personal projects welcome).
- Hands-on experience with Figma, including components, auto layout, and prototyping.
- Comfort with ambiguity — you can define a problem, not just solve one handed to you.
- Strong communication skills; you can explain your design rationale clearly to non-designers.
- Genuine curiosity about users and a habit of questioning assumptions.
- Bonus: experience with user research methods, motion design, or design systems.
What you can expect:
- Meaningful ownership of real product work — not just supporting tasks.
- A dedicated design mentor and regular 1:1s to support your growth.
- Exposure to the full product development lifecycle at a fast-moving startup.
- A collaborative, feedback-rich environment where your ideas are taken seriously.
