DefaultFull TimeMontreal, QC

Who we are

Diagram is a venture builder and early-stage investor that conceives, launches, and invests in transformative companies in the Fintech and ClimateTech sectors. Since 2016, we’ve raised over $480M and launched or invested in around 50 companies.

We work hand-in-hand with experienced founders, combining access to capital, hands-on support, and a deep ecosystem of partners to launch and scale businesses. Our ecosystem includes 200+ investors, including 60+ entrepreneurs with exits exceeding $15B, as well as a global network of corporate partners.

Diagram is part of Sagard, a global multi-strategy alternative investment platform with over US$46B in AUM.

What we are looking for

We are looking for a Chief of Staff to be the right hand person to Amélie Foz-Couture, General Partner. Your core mission will be to act as a force multiplier for Amélie by driving strategic initiatives, enabling  focus on key priorities, and ensuring operational excellence across key processes. You’ll also collaborate closely with the broader leadership team of Diagram.

The successful candidate will bring organizational rigor, analytical depth, and excellent communication skills.  This is an execution-first role: after a ramp period, you should need minimal check-ins, be comfortable taking ownership of a project end-to-end, make judgment calls, and report back with a resolved output. Most importantly, you need to have a can-do and roll-up your sleeves attitude.

This is a 2 year mandate with a tremendous opportunity for growth and impact, and with a path to grow into other roles within the Diagram or Sagard ecosystem. The start date for this role is in Q1 2027.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Leading end-to-end special projects and strategic initiatives, incl. building  business cases and presentations that drive decision-making, and collaborating cross-functionally and externally to ensure buy-in and execution follow-through on key initiatives
  • Supporting  fundraising processes end-to-end (in collaboration with Investor Relations and Legal)
  • Supporting GP’s day-to-day communications and management of priorities (email drafting, light calendar management via automated tools, owning follow-ups / to do’s)
  • Owning GP’s relationship building and management strategy (newsletters, preparing for / hosting events and appearances, etc) with founders, investors, and the broader ecosystem
  • Leading Diagram's OKR and quarterly budget tracking process, and owning the cadence and quality of leadership meetings (agendas, facilitation, decisions, and follow-ups)
  • Preparing and running quarterly team off-sites, from content to logistics, and playing a role in building our culture
  • Tracking and maintaining key data (e.g., CRM), driving process optimization, automation, and AI integration across supported workflows
  • Documenting and continuously improving Chief of Staff systems and processes, and eventually helping to  recruit, train, and onboard your successor

You should have

  • A track record of outstanding performance
  • Demonstrated organizational rigor
  • A self-starter mentality and high degree of ownership; comfortable operating with minimal oversight
  • 2-3 years of experience in relevant fields such as: management consulting, investment banking or private equity, business operations,  fundraising or investor relations
  • Strong communication skills (particularly written) and the ability to produce high-quality deliverables
  • Excellent analytical skills and comfort getting into the substance of the work, not just managing process
  • Familiarity and excitement around leveraging AI and automation tools to improve workflows
  • A business or related degree, or familiarity with core business concepts (finance, accounting, etc)

What we offer

  • A high-impact seat working directly alongside Diagram's leadership as the firm scales with an opportunity to shape and get exposure to high stakes decisions and high visibility projects
  • Broad exposure across fundraising, strategy, and operations at an early-stage investment platform
  • A team of accomplished, ambitious, and supportive individuals that will help you grow
  • Competitive compensation
  • Beautiful offices in great locations (Montreal, Toronto)
  • Generous benefits
