What we are looking for

We are looking for a Chief of Staff to help the Venture Creation team function at top velocity and quality. You’ll work directly within the Venture Creation team to support our goal of launching 10+ companies a year across our 3 pods (Fintech, Web3 and AI, and ClimateTech). You’ll be a resource for the team at key steps in the process of creating a company, primarily helping them source customers/experts and source founders with the right tactics, tools and vendors. You’ll also own communications and KPI/budget tracking for the team. You’ll be an integral part of the team and interact on a daily basis with our ~12 idea leads as well as Partners and Principals leading each of the pods. 

You’ll report directly to Amelie Foz-Couture, Partner and co-lead of Diagram’s ClimateTech Fund, who has been leading Venture Creation at Diagram for the last 5+ years. 

This is a unique opportunity to join Diagram in a key role and learn how we create companies from scratch! We are looking for you to stay in this role for 18-24 months and then train your replacement as you move on to another role within Diagram or our broader ecosystem. 


What you’ll be doing:  

  • Working with Venture Creation idea leads and pod leaders at two key steps of the process: sourcing customers and experts for research, and sourcing founder candidates - you’ll identify tactics, tools and best practices and provide hands-on support at these key steps 
  • Tracking metrics, evaluating new tools and vendors and collecting internal and external best practices to drive continuous improvement
  • Writing newsletters, updates and presentations about what the team is working on for a range of internal and external audiences to drive talent and commercial referrals from our ecosystem
  • Managing projects and acting as a “quarterback” for key steps in our Venture Creation process

You should have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, engineering, or a related field 
  • A track record of outstanding performance
  • 1-3 years of work experience in a fast-paced, high performance environment 
  • Proven entrepreneurial and self-starter mindset 
  • Proven organizational skills, ability to prioritize and multitask
  • A positive attitude and an optimistic outlook
