CAMP DRAGONFLY & PHOENIX – CAMP COUNSELLOR & PROGRAM TEAM
ABOUT CAMP DRAGONFLY & CAMP PHOENIX: Camp Dragonfly and Camp Phoenix are overnight camps for children and youth living with type 1 diabetes. While playing, sharing and learning together, campers take confidence and develop their independence in diabetes self-management. Camp Dragonfly is located at beautiful Greenhill Lake Camp in New Brunswick, and Camp Phoenix is located at beautiful Camp Seggie, PE. We are proud to offer each camper a unique, active week building friendship, skills and lifelong memories.
CAMP DATES:
- Camp Phoenix: July 7 - 11, 2025
- Camp Dragonfly: July 13 - 18, 2025
STAFF TRAINING DATES:
- Camp Dragonfly & Camp Phoenix: July 4 - 6, 2025
GENERAL FUNCTION: Working directly with the support team, the staff will be responsible for supporting campers and participants in the daily activity and program at camp while ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met.
The following roles are currently available at both Camp Dragonfly & Camp Phoenix:
CAMP COUNSELLOR (1 week per camps)
Reporting to the Camp Director, the Camp Counsellor will be working with a specific group of kids for the duration of the program. Camp Counsellor will be involved with their camper’s program activities as well as being with campers during evening and night time. Camp Counsellors are there to ensure all of their campers emotional and physical needs are being met. Expected Salary: $675 per week
PROGRAM STAFF (1 week per camps)
Reporting to the Camp Director, the Program Staff are responsible for the daily activities offered at camp, including but not limited to Arts & Craft, Sports & Games, Archery, Environmental Education, Evening Program, Campfire and Night Programs. Program staff may also hold camp counselling responsibility during the day, evening and night when not running an activity.
Expected Salary: $675 per week
LEADERSHIP ACADEMY COORDINATOR (2 weeks, July 8 - 19th, 2024)
Reporting to the Camp Director, The Leadership Academy Directors are responsible for working directly with a group of 8-12 youths between the age of 15-16. The directors will be responsible for the development, implementation and execution of the program. In keeping with the camp's philosophy, the leadership academy is focused on helping & supporting youth in developing skills in leadership, team-building, communication and problem solving all while focusing on building a community. The Leadership Academy will also give youth the knowledge and skills necessary to work and mentor children in recreational programs. The program runs from July 8 - 19, 2024. Expected Salary: $1800 for the session

● Ability to take initiative and use independent judgment to solve and/or respond to situations
● Ability to speak English and French will be considered an asset
● General knowledge of Type 1 diabetes
