Job Description:
Corwest is seeking an experienced Estimator specializing in Pressure Piping, Pressure Vessels, Shell & Tube Heat Exchangers, Structural Steel, and General Steel Fabrication. In this role, you will be responsible for (not limited to) creating accurate cost estimates based on customer supplied drawings and specifications, obtaining prices/quotes for the materials, equipment, and subcontractors as needed, and determining the schedules and costs of the labour requirements needed to estimate the total cost of the project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in all aspects of the tendering process
- Produce and review correspondence, reports, specifications, spreadsheets, and other documents
- Prepare detailed firm, budget, and unit price estimates for labor, materials, equipment, etc.
- Develop tender submissions and respond to post-tender inquiries
- Coordinate office activities and operations to ensure efficiency and compliance with company policies
- Support business development initiatives, including proposal/bid submission documentation and maintain project and contact lists
- Perform various data entry tasks, including schedule development and updates
- Maintain files of working documents as backup for estimate figures, including current information on prices from suppliers
- Prepare a project budget for awarded contracts
- Prepare and submit change orders as needed
- Foster client relationships and identify new market opportunities
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience estimating piping projects
- Experience estimating pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and structural steel would be an asset
- Knowledge of ASME Codes B31.1, B1.3, and Section VIII, Div.1 would be an asset
- Knowledge of cost control, estimating, and planning techniques
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with ERP and CRM systems would be an asset
- Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written
- Must report to work in our Port Coquitlam office

- Base Salary: Starting at $90,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications
