Functional Role
As a Gravel Truck Driver, you will transport crushed rock, sand, gravel, and other materials to and from specified locations, verifying the types of materials being transported and ensuring that they do not exceed weight restrictions. You must perform all work to regulated organizational, as well as provincial and federal standards, procedures, laws and regulations and adhere to the highest standards of safety.

Qualifications
- Valid Class 1 or Class 3 BC Drivers’ Licence with air brake endorsement
- Manual Transmission

The Gravel Truck Driver will demonstrate the following abilities in their daily work:

- frequently rotating (right/left) - check/see mirrors, blind spots

- repetitive movements - body rotation, feet and hand controls

- sitting for long periods of time
- climbing - stairs/ladders; getting in and out of equipment
Lead, Manage, Accountability
The Gravel Truck Driver-Gravel is accountable to the Construction Administrative Coordinator (Dispatch)
Hours of Work
- Generally, 7:30am - 4:00pm, Monday - Friday
- Overtime required during busy construction periods
Compensation
- $32.00 - $40.45 per rate depending on experience
- Extended health and dental benefits after 180-day waiting period
Visa Requirements
You must be legally eligible to work in Canada
Accountabilities
- Demonstrate CME Personal Protective Equipment standard by attending morning meeting in hard hat, high-vis safety vest, steel toed boots
- Perform pre/post-trip inspection daily, grease truck weekly
- Checks daily work schedule
- Completes daily paperwork in an orderly, logical and legible fashion including all pertinent information
- Performs check-out/in procedures including checking and adjusting brakes
- Operates truck in a safe and legal manner and performs basic maintenance
- Keeps dispatch informed of status regularly
- Keeps truck clean inside and out
- Ensures customer satisfaction by remaining courteous and friendly
- All maintenance, other than that performed at the start and end of a shift, needs to be authorized by the Chief Mechanic
- Maintains personal safety gear at all times (hard hat, hi-vis vest, steel toed boots)
- Maintains personal foul weather gear at all times (rain gear, rubber boots)
