Salary Range: $19.75 / hour

Work Environment: CivicAction’s work is a hybrid workplace that combines both in-office and remote work. CivicAction’s physical offices are in downtown Toronto and technology will be provided to support both in-office and remote work. This position may involve some evening and weekend work.

Position Purpose  

The Program Assistant - Education will play a key role by assisting in the execution and evaluation of CivicAction’s leadership programs. This role ensures that programs are effectively implemented, meet organizational goals, and are continuously improved based on data-driven insights.

Key Accountabilities:

Data, Research and Evaluation:

  • Lead the collection and analysis of program data, identifying areas of success and opportunities for improvement.
  • Contribute to the preparation of evaluation reports, providing insights and actionable recommendations for enhancing program effectiveness.
  • Support the development and implementation of program surveys and feedback mechanisms to gather participant input and inform future programming.

Program Development:

  • Assist in the coordination of program activities and events, ensuring alignment with overall program objectives.
  • Develop program materials such as presentations, reports, and marketing collateral to support communication and outreach efforts.
  • Collaborate with program leads to help define program strategies and set clear objectives to guide the successful delivery of initiatives.

Program Execution:

  • Implement program plans in collaboration with program managers, ensuring smooth execution and timely completion of tasks.
  • Monitor program timelines and ensure all deadlines are met, coordinating resources and support as needed.
  • Coordinate logistics for meetings, workshops, and other program-related events, ensuring all aspects are well-organized and executed.

Qualifications and Skills

Required Education, Certification and Experience:

  • Enrollment in a post-secondary program in a relevant field.

 

Demonstrated Skills and Behaviours:

  • Experience in program coordination, project management, or a related field, preferably within a non-profit or public sector environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in data collection, analysis and reporting
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills and experience with event planning, logistics, and stakeholder coordination.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop reports, presentations, and other materials.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with project management tools is an asset.
