  • Salary Range: $45,000 - $55,000 / annually
  • Work Environment: CivicAction’s work is a hybrid workplace that combines both in-office and remote work. CivicAction’s physical offices are in downtown Toronto and technology will be provided to support both in-office and remote work. This position may involve some evening and weekend work.
  • Start Date: June 2, 2025

Position Purpose

The Communications & Marketing Coordinator will play a key role in enhancing CivicAction’s brand, boosting visibility, and fostering effective communication with supporters, partners, and the public. This position will support the development and implementation of marketing strategies aligned with our mission and goals, while supporting the daily communications activities that drive engagement and impact.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Support the Manager, Marketing & Communications in the development and implementation of marketing strategies to promote CivicAction’s brand, programs, and initiatives.
  • Create engaging content for various platforms, including websites, social media, newsletters, and printed materials.
  • Support the development of communication materials including impact and annual reports, presentation decks, and marketing collateral.
  • Support the planning, development and execution of marketing and communications campaigns, such as fundraising and awareness campaigns.
  • Track and analyze key metrics related to web, social media, and e-mail marketing, and report on effectiveness of marketing campaigns and efforts.
  • Ensure messaging is consistent, on-brand, and reflects the organization’s values and mission.
  • Support the Manager, Marketing & Communications with daily tasks and projects, as needed.

Qualifications and Skills

Required Education, Certification and Experience:

  • Successful completion of a post-secondary program in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, a related field, or equivalent experience.

Demonstrated Skills and Behaviours:

  • Experience in marketing, communications, or a related field, preferably within a non-profit environment.
  • Experience with Mailchimp, Canva, Wordpress, and CRM platforms (HubSpot preferred).
  • Familiarity with social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, BlueSky, TikTok and LinkedIn.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and connect with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive donor information with discretion.
  • Detail-oriented and proactive, with a focus on results and continuous improvement.
