Looking for a remote, contract-based job opportunity to put your benefits and payroll experience to good use? Join the Calgary International Film Festival as they head into their 27th year hosting Alberta’s largest film festival!
Supporting nearly 30,000 attendees, Calgary International Film Festival is a place where filmmakers and fans come together to share their stories, interact, and enjoy 11 days of artistic celebration. To support this amazing event, we employ a small year-round team complemented by a host of seasonal staff. Like our films, we are proud to offer an inclusive environment and are currently seeking an experienced Payroll Administrator to join our ranks in a contractor capacity.
About The Role
As Payroll Administrator, you will be responsible for payroll duties and benefits administration for our permanent and seasonal staff in Calgary. You will also support records management and reporting, both internally and for the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), Statistics Canada, and other government agencies as required.
This is an ideal role for someone who has prior experience with ADP, benefits administration, and recordkeeping duties. As a team player who enjoys collaborating, you’re also detail-oriented, reliable, and know how to manage time-sensitive tasks. You understand the onboarding and offboarding processes concerning payroll and benefits, and pride yourself on the accuracy and timeliness of your work.
Essential Functions:
- Act as the main administrator for our payroll system (ADP), employee benefits program (myHSA), and our Human Resources Information System (Collage HR), as it relates to both.
- Provide information to, and answer questions from, employees about payroll and benefits.
- Create, process, and ensure the accuracy of bi-monthly payroll runs and special payroll runs as required.
- Maintain complete and accurate payroll records.
- Prepare, send, and liaise with the CRA on our payroll account and annual Payroll Returns.
- Prepare and submit payroll reports and survey responses to government agencies as required.
- Prepare and send annual T4 and T4A pay statements to employees.
- Create and process Records of Employment.
- Provide payroll data and analysis to management as requested.
Qualifications
Must Have:
- Experience with ADP (specifically: Team Pay/Workforce Now)
- Google Suite Experience (specifically: Google Sheets)
- Prior payroll and benefits experience.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills.
Nice to Have:
- Previous experience with Collage HR and myHSA.
- Prior experience in an organization with seasonal staff.
Working Conditions
Working remotely, we approximate that the Payroll Administrator will work roughly 10-15 hours per month, depending on operational needs and business flow. It is understood that hours may be increased between August and October due to the additional work required to on-board and off-board seasonal staff for the festival.
