Maintenance Mechanic

General Accountability

Reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Millwright plays a critical role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of production and facility equipment. This hands-on position is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining manufacturing equipment and systems through preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs. The successful candidate will be a proactive problem-solver committed to operational excellence, equipment reliability, and workplace safety.

Key Responsibilities

Equipment Maintenance & Reliability

• Install, inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair production and processing equipment to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
• Respond promptly to emergency and unplanned equipment breakdowns, diagnosing root causes and implementing effective corrective actions.
• Execute scheduled maintenance activities during planned downtime to support equipment reliability and plant productivity.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Replace defective components, test equipment performance, and make operational adjustments as required.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals, technical drawings, schematics, and work orders.
• Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on production equipment and facility systems.
• Safely operate hand tools, power tools, electrical testing instruments, and material handling equipment.
• Identify opportunities for equipment improvements and report recurring issues, defective materials, or unsafe operating conditions.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and preventative maintenance documentation within established systems.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at increasing equipment reliability, efficiency, and performance.

• Consistently wear and maintain required personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all manufacturing area protocols.
• Ensure tools, equipment, uniforms, and workspaces are maintained in accordance with company standards.
• Promptly report incidents, accidents, hazards, unsafe conditions, and near misses through established reporting procedures.

Qualifications & Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Licensed Industrial Millwright (433A) Certificate of Qualification or equivalent recognized trade certification.
• Working knowledge of industrial electrical systems and controls.
• Proven experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial manufacturing equipment.
• Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment and comply with all safety requirements.
