We’re looking for a CPA‑designated Accountant to join our Finance Team and support financial reporting, job costing, and operational decision‑making across a leading BC‑based construction group. What You’ll Be Doing
Reporting to the Assistant Controller, you’ll support core accounting, reporting, and operational functions across the group.
Financial Reporting & Close
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and supporting schedules
- Perform variance analysis (actual vs. budget) and communicate insights to stakeholders
- Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments
- Complete GL and bank reconciliations with clear, audit‑ready documentation
Job Costing & Operations Support
- Support job costing processes, including cost tracking and variance identification
- Partner with operations and project teams to respond to cost and accounting inquiries
- Provide financial insight to support informed project decisions
Audit, Tax & Compliance
- Prepare working papers, lead schedules, and audit documentation
- Assist with GST and PST filings
- Support internal controls, policies, and process improvements
General Accounting & Team Collaboration
- Assist with AP, AR, payroll, and cash management as required
- Collaborate with colleagues to meet reporting deadlines
- Participate in ad hoc projects and cross‑functional initiatives
What You Bring
Required
- CPA designation (CPA Canada)
- Minimum 4 years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong experience with reconciliations, working papers, and audit preparation
- Knowledge of job costing or project‑based accounting
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively
Considered an Asset
- Experience with Acumatica or similar ERP systems
- Background in construction, infrastructure, or project‑based industries
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $90,000 – $100,000 annually
- Company‑paid RRSP
