We are looking for a driven, passionate, and talented Business Development Manager to join our dynamic team!
The Business Development Manager will play a critical role in identifying and acquiring new business opportunities, expanding our client base and contributing to our growing success. This position requires a proactive, strategic thinker with exceptional networking skills and a passion for achieving and exceeding sales goals. You will focus on prospecting, building relationships, and closing deals with businesses that can benefit from our digital marketing services.
This is a full-time position, working in a hybrid model. Candidates should be able to travel to our Studio in Oakville, Ontario, Canada.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prospecting and Lead Generation
- Identify and research potential clients across target industries.
- Develop a pipeline of qualified leads using tools, platforms, and personal networks.
- Conduct outreach campaigns to engage prospects through social media, email and events.
- Sales Strategy and Execution
- Systematically and consistently create, develop and implement marketing strategies that will attract new outbound business opportunities to Candybox Marketing.
- Perform research on prospective clients to ensure the sales offering resonates, is needed and is of value to the prospective client.
- Act as a business coach and think about the client's business holistically when offering solutions.
- Present and pitch digital marketing solutions to key decision-makers.
- Customize sales proposals to align with client needs and objectives.
- Conduct thorough discovery sessions to understand clients' pain points and goals.
- Navigate objections and negotiate terms to close deals.
- Relationship Building
- Work with clients in a variety of industries.
- Establish long-term relationships with clients to foster trust and loyalty.
- Engage in networking initiatives in order to maximize sales opportunities.
- Attend networking events, trade shows, and industry conferences to build connections.
- Collaboration and Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of leads, prospects, and sales activity in the CRM system.
- Complete follow-up documentation after each interaction (Notes, proposals, and billing).
- Work closely with client leadership team, and service delivery teams to ensure smooth onboarding and alignment of client expectations.
- Provide regular sales forecasts and performance updates to management.
- Systematically and consistently respond quickly and effectively to sales leads and to do so in a professional manner and style that clearly demonstrates your sales skill and technical expertise, resulting in closed sales.
- Participate in strategic sales meetings with the Candybox Sales Team.
- Consistently keep pipeline and CRM up to date.
- Provide monthly sales reports to the CEO.
- Present digital marketing plan solutions in conjunction with the team at Candybox.
- Self-evaluate your own behaviours and performance and where there are gaps, to take the initiative necessary to improve and grow your sales skills, closing skills, your technical expertise and professional demeanour.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field (preferred but not mandatory).
- Minimum of 2-5 years of sales experience, preferably in digital marketing, SaaS, or related industries.
- Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets.
- Experience with prospecting tools (e.g., LinkedIn Sales Navigator, cold email platforms).Digital marketing knowledge and experience preferred: SEO, PPC, Social Media, Content Marketing, Web Development, App Development, Creative, Branding.
- Experience/knowledge using the following platforms: Semrush (SEO tools), Google Analytics, Monday.com,
- Understanding of digital marketing strategies and tactics (Site, search, social, branding).
- Excellent oral + communication skills.
- Personable + friendly for customers and staff.
- An experienced salesperson (5+ years) that understands digital marketing (websites, search engine marketing, social media, content, multimedia).
- Passionate about solving problems through digital marketing.
- Accountable for results, pipelines and sales targets.
- Self-starter who loves to find new opportunities.
- Proficient in an Apple and Google Workspace environment.
