Automation Technician

Reports to: Automation Technologist

Job Purpose:

To assist with the setup, operation, and maintenance of various CNC machines, robotic devices, and additive 3D printers, ensuring the efficient functioning of automated systems and contributing to the development of innovative prototypes and production parts.

Key Responsibilities and Accountability:

· Assist with the development, installation, and programming of CNC & UR10e robots.

· Assist with the maintenance of a wide variety of machines, electrical devices, and control systems.

· Assist with converting (slicing) 3D designs into printer compatible g-code, operating and maintaining the equipment

· Assist with designing and producing 3D printed samples and production parts

· Assist with the removal, cleaning, and curing of parts off the build plates. Removing excess materials.

· Assist with the diagnostic checks and troubleshoot automated systems / isolate problems and perform minor repairs

Skills and Qualifications:

· A college or university diploma in engineering or a related field.

· Strong analytic skills are essential to understand automated systems

· A strong working knowledge of CAD software (SolidWorks or Fusion360) and

· Attention to detail / excellent eye-hand coordination / problem solving

· Computer Networking/Programming, Arduino, Raspberry Pi knowledge an asset

· Effective communication and teamwork
