We are seeking an organized and outgoing individual to assist our growing company with the surveying of earthworks projects throughout the Greater Toronto Area.

Major duties and responsibilities include:

  • Plan, schedule, direct and monitor activities of the surveying department.
  • Prepare data, charts, plots, maps, records, and documents related to surveys.
  • Create and maintain detailed and accurate project records and reports, including correspondence related to project work.
  • Operate and manage land-information computer systems, performing tasks such as storing data, making inquiries, and producing plots and reports.
  • Prepare accurate 3D models for field layout or machine control.
  • Confer with project supervisors to determine project details such as plan preparation, acceptance testing, and evaluation of field conditions.
  • Compile information necessary to stake projects for construction, using engineering plans.
  • Perform construction layout and quantity surveys as required.
  • Prepare final quantities and drawings to be delivered to client during billing process.

Working conditions:

  • Mainly office environment and computer work; site visits as required.
  • Daily interaction with management.
  • Travel and overtime as required.

What’s required?

  • Five years of experience construction surveying and layout
  • Expert knowledge of AutoCAD, MS Office, Civil 3D, Topcon 3D, MAGNET or similar software
  • Proficient in the use of total stations, GPS Receivers, and data collectors
  • Demonstrated supervisory skills, ability to manage priorities and keep highly organized
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to report accurately, both written and verbal
  • Excellent interpersonal and team skills, willingness to help, punctual, responsible
  • Valid class G Ontario driver’s licence
