Reporting to the Area Superintendent, the Lead Field Operator will be familiar with all aspects of the operations and operating procedures for this areas. The position assists the Superintendent with daily operations and provides on-site direction and training of more junior operators. Acts as area Lead Operator of field equipment and supervises and coordinates all work and services performed by Operators for the management and operation of our assets.
As part of this challenging role, you will specifically be responsible for:
· Day to day operation, inspection, maintenance, alteration, and repair of our assets
· Participate in and lead a team of Operators in oil and gas field operating practices and ensure adherence to all applicable laws, statutes, orders, rules and regulations of any governmental authority
· Demonstrate and uphold all of Blue Sky’s rules, guidelines, policies and procedures applicable to the conduct of operations relating to our assets
· Use PPE as necessary to meet all current regulatory requirements and health and safety policies
· Testing, sampling, the keeping of accurate records and the preparation and submission of all necessary documents and reports
· Take whatever action is considered reasonably necessary for the protection of life, health, property and the environment in the event of an emergency situation
· Execute HSE policy, process and procedures
· Ensure that all Field Operators have the appropriate HSE competencies
· Ensure various audit compliance
· Ensure HR policies & procedures are followed
· Provide onboarding to new Operators
· Coordinate 3rd party services and material purchases to ensure Blue Sky receives good value for services
· Ensure throughput volumes are maintained at the optimum levels
· Ensure equipment and facilities are maintained to meet throughput requirements
· Understand the facility capabilities and operating state at all times
· Ensure asset compliance with all industry and regulatory policies and standards
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
· 10+ years of oil and gas operating experience, a valid operator certification and a working knowledge of regulatory requirements
· Minimum Grade 12 High School with preference will be given to candidates with Journeyman Trades, Power Engineering or Field/Gas Plant Operator certifications
· Must be legally able to work in Canada
Please note this position works at 8 on/6 off shift schedule starting each Wednesday. This role will be located in a fairly remote camp.
