Maximizes return on financial assets by managing and evolving financial policies, procedures, controls and reporting systems. Ensures the timely, accurate and reliable reporting of the Company’s financial results. Assist in the development of enhanced policies and procedures to reduce the Company’s cash conversion cycle. Be a proactive force in managing and evolving the internal financial controls of the company. Report to the CFO.
Ensure the CFO and other Department Heads have all financial reports and data vital to good decision-making is delivered on time, accurately and as specified by the CFO. Assists with external reporting requirements and maintaining / monitoring business performance and SaaS metrics.
Monitor and maintain an effective internal control process company-wide
Evaluate and evolve accounting processes and internal control systems. Work with the CFO to set and regularly review the approval matrix and approve company spending accordingly.
Full cycle accounting responsibilities including AP, Billing and AR management, Banking and Cashflow management, Payroll, GST/HST remittances, generation of month end reports and supporting working papers delivered to the CFO for approval and review. Variance analysis is complete, accurate and insightful. Support other team members or cross functional collaborators gathering and processing data as financial inputs.
Prepare year end records and working papers for the Company’s annual audit and tax compliance, including SRED claim.
Technical Knowledge and Experience
Comprehensive job knowledge, QBO champion, SaaS industry experience (valuable), advanced Excel and modeling, revenue recognition master, budgeting and forecasting, AP Automation (useful), IFRS, ASPE.

The ability to analyze situations and data, balance and view the implications of certain decisions from a critical perspective.
The ability to adapt communication to the audience and the situation, educate and train others internally on financial processes, best practices and operational procedures.

Detailed job knowledge, effective at multi-tasking and (re)prioritizing in a fast-paced evolving environment, comply with labor laws, safety concerns, health issues and Provincial and Federal policies that change regularly.
