Empowered by the First Nations Leadership Council and in partnership with the provincial and federal governments, the BC First Nations Justice Council (BCFNJC) is responsible to 204 First Nations in BC. Our mandate is to reduce the overrepresentation of First Nations Métis and Inuit people in the criminal justice system and the child protection system, and to support Nations as they move to sovereignty over justice.

Position Summary:
Reporting to the Accounts Payable Manager, the Accounts Payable Administrator will be responsible for assisting the accounts payable team in their regular entering and processing of invoices and receipts. This position will be responsible for a variety of accounting related tasks for multiple departments and locations within the province.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Organization of accounts payable invoices and related data entry.
- Processing of weekly accounts payable electronics fund transfers.
- Day-to-day organization and monthly reconciliations of executive credit cards.
- Entering and processing of employee expense reports.
- Travel expense organization and reconciliation.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Work Experience:
- Education or experience in Accounts Payable or related field preferred. Minimum of 2 years’ experience required for the role.
- Experience in AP, Bank & Credit Card Reconciliations and Sage Intacct accounting program.
- Strong working knowledge of accounting principles, financial statements, and accounting systems.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of Sage Intacct accounting program.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of SharePoint and file management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Outlook, PowerPoint) and other relevant software and multiple media platforms.
- Proficient in MS Office programs including Word and Outlook, with advanced skills in MS Excel.
- Self-motivated individual with the ability to work with minimal. supervision in a team-oriented setting.
- Demonstrated ability to problem solve and take initiative.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, with interpersonal skills and ability to foster and work within a multidisciplinary remote team environment.
- Ability to foster relationships and build rapport while creating/maintaining a culturally safe environment.
- Work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Accomplished at communicating and collaborating with remote teams.
- Strong verbal and written presentation skills including the ability to communicate complex ideas in a simple way and tailor key messages and presentation styles to multiple audiences.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Operates under general direction, makes a limited number of decisions using judgement, knowledge and experience and based on policy and past precedents as a guide to ensure.
- Escalates decisions to Manager of Accounts or Director of Finance when required.
- A clear criminal reference check from the Canadian Police Information Centre and Vulnerable Sector Clearance will be a condition of employment.

Location: Kelowna, Westbank BC or Remote.

Pay Range: $55,000-$75,000 annually.
Hours: Full-time (35hours/week); Mondays to Fridays
