We are currently seeking a Coordinator to join our Diversion team. The Diversion program is intended to divert young people pre-charge (EJM) and post-charge (EJS) away from formal criminal proceedings and into a program of rehabilitation.
Job Type: Permanent Full-time (one vacancy)
Location: Hybrid - Head Office in Peel Region

Hours of Work: 35 hours a week (Days & Evenings)
Responsibilities:
- Provide community-based services mandated by the Youth Criminal Justice Act as an alternate to custody for young people in contact with Youth Court and police
- Respond to referrals from Crown Attorney’s office for Extra Judicial Sanctions (EJS) and Peel Regional Police for Extra Judicial Measures (EJM)
- Meet with youth and their parents/caregivers in person and/or virtually
- Develop new and innovative program sanctions/measures to address the changing needs of the program and clients
- Facilitate group and individual programming, as required
- Establish and maintain professional alliances with collateral agencies/organizations
- Maintain professional documentation, in the form of intake, service plans, discharge summaries and/or case summaries and statistical information
- Provide training to volunteers who support client and program needs
- Work flexible hours related to the needs of the clients, evening work will be required
Qualifications and Experience:
- Undergraduate Degree or Community College diploma in a social science or related field
- Knowledge of the Youth Criminal Justice Act and CYFSA, Provincial Offences Act and the Extra Judicial Sanctions/Extra Judicial Measures Model
- Minimum 1-2 years’ experience working with youth. Experience working in the Youth Justice sector will be considered an asset
Salary Range: $49,409 - $58,772
