Join the dynamic team at the Aurora Cultural Centre as an Arts Camp Senior Counsellor (ACSC)! We are actively seeking six (6) dedicated individuals to play a key role in promoting, planning, and delivering our engaging arts-based summer camps for children aged 4-12.
Assignment Dates: May 30, 2024 - August 22, 2024

Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Summer Programs Supervisor and team
- Design the curriculum, implement and lead artistic activities for children
- Ensure a positive and inspiring camp experience
- Participate in the organization’s public events such as Canada Day and Street Fair Festival.
Skills and Experience
- Visual arts training and/or experience
- Experience in teaching or working with children
- Experience in a children's camp setting, preferably in visual arts
- General awareness of ethical considerations in art education such as inclusivity, cultural appropriation, self-expression, and sustainability.
Requirements
- Aged between 16 and 30 years old
- Eligible to work in Ontario (must possess a valid social insurance number)
- Hold a proper residency status, which includes being a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person with valid refugee status in Canada (as defined by the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act)
As some funding sources require that recipients plan to return to an educational institution in September 2025, please indicate your intentions in your cover letter.

- International students
- Non-Canadians holding temporary work visas or awaiting permanent resident status
Qualifications
- Emergency First Aid, CPR-C Certification, (AED training an asset)
- Vulnerable Sector Check required (reimbursed with receipt)
- Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle considered an asset
