Basketball Operations Intern

As a Basketball Operations Intern with Orangeville Basketball Development Academy, you will play a crucial role in supporting our coaching staff and enhancing the overall experience of our academy players. This position is perfect for individuals who are passionate about sports, dedicated to player development, and possess a strong work ethic. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting coaches during practices and games, ensuring player readiness, and managing logistical details for smooth operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist coaches during practice sessions and games by providing on-court support.
• Support the basketball operations staff with duties related to residence, food and beverage, travel, player and parents communication.
• Ensure that players are properly hydrated before, during, and after practices and games.
• Prepare practice jerseys by making sure they are clean, organized, and ready for use.
• Ensure basketballs are ready and available for practice, maintaining proper inflation and condition.
• Manage the court IQ sessions in the media room, ensuring all materials and equipment are ready for coaches’ use off the court.
• Help coordinate drills and activities during practice, fostering a positive and engaging environment for players.
• Support administrative tasks such as tracking player attendance and feedback.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for improving practices and player engagement.
• Assist in maintaining a safe and respectful environment for all players and staff.
  

Qualifications:

• Have a passion for basketball, and player development.
• Strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and a friendly demeanour.
• Previous experience in sports, coaching, or youth mentorship is a plus but not required.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
