About the Role

We’re looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Intermediate Accountant to join our growing team. This self-starter role offers strong visibility across the organization and direct collaboration with the CFO.

You’ll play a key role in managing Aimsio’s day-to-day financial operations, including payroll, bookkeeping, and general accounting. You’ll also help build scalable accounting processes as we prepare for expansion into the U.S. market.  

This role is primarily remote and based in Calgary, with occasional opportunities to connect and collaborate in person at our shared workspace.


Responsibilities: How will you make a contribution?

  • Prepare monthly financials including full-cycle accounting journal entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliation
  • Prepare and post monthly accruals, prepaids, and adjusting entries
  • Process bi-weekly Canadian payroll and assist in setting up and U.S. payroll as we expand in 2026
  • Manage our Employment of Record for US employees
  • Manage expense reimbursements and credit card reconciliations
  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure timely month-end and year-end close processes
  • Assist with cash flow management and forecasting
  • Support the CFO with financial reporting, audits, and budgeting
  • Ensure compliance with federal and provincial/state tax requirements
  • Prepare and process wire transfers and payments
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to support operational and financial goals
  • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and implement best practices


What You Bring

  • Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Minimum 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online is required
  • Experience with Chargebee or other subscription billing platforms is an asset
  • U.S. payroll experience is a strong plus
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with cloud-based accounting tools
