The Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television is the largest non-profit media membership organization in Canada. We are dedicated to recognizing, advocating for and celebrating Canadian talent in the film, television, and digital media sectors. Our more than 3,500 members encompass industry icons and professionals, emerging artists and students. The Canadian Academy is seeking a Coordinator, PR & Digital Communications, with strong written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills, and a high attention to detail. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Digital Marketing & Communications, this role will work closely with the Academy’s Communications team to support our Public Relations and Digital Communications efforts. They will be primarily responsible for assisting with written communications and media campaigns, the creation of promotional materials, research, web support, and social media.
Specific responsibilities will include:
- Support the management of the Canadian Academy social media accounts and partaking in community engagement and management - this includes helping to write social copy, sourcing images, coordinating audience engagement initiatives, and content creation
- Collecting media information to support the promotion of the Canadian Screen Awards
- Gathering social media statistics
- Assisting with managing external vendors and agencies
- Researching hashtags and handles for Canadian Screen Award nominees
- Assisting with media monitoring, tracking, and compiling post-mortem reports
- Assisting with advertising and promotions for the Canadian Screen Awards
- Creating eBlasts, webpages, and graphics for promotional campaigns
- Website data entry and website updates, maintenance & support
- Providing on-site and social media support for all Canadian Screen Award events
Qualifications:
- Minimum of one (1) year of Digital Communications, Social Media Management, Public Relations, or related experience in entertainment
- Strong written, verbal, proofreading, and organizational skills with a high attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, juggle multiple priorities, and work independently as well as in a team setting
- Passion for social media, with knowledge of best practices and strategy for a variety of digital platforms
- Computer skills:
- Microsoft Office Suite, Google Drive Suite, and Asana
- Knowledge of Meltwater, WordPress, and HTML / CSS coding is an asset
- Knowledge of desktop publishing programs such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Canva, and Microsoft PowerPoint is an asset
- Knowledge of video editing software (Final Cut, Adobe Premiere, CapCut, etc.) is an asset
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Graphic design experience is an asset
- Experience with marketing campaigns is an asset
- Knowledge of the Canadian screen industry (including film, television, and digital media) is an asset
- University or college degree in the field of Communications and/or Marketing or a similar area of study is an asset
- Bilingualism (EN/FR) is an asset

SALARY: $825.00/Week
Canadian Academy staff members are working full-time from home remotely. Staff are required to attend in-person meetings and events as needed.
Office hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. A commitment of 40 hours/per week is required. Evening work and overtime are required for special events throughout the year and during the Canadian Screen Awards and their lead-up.
