The Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television is the largest non-profit professional arts organization in Canada. The Canadian Academy is seeking a Senior Coordinator, Digital Communications with a background in social media, design, website management, and with high attention to detail. Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Digital Marketing & Communications, the Senior Coordinator will work closely with the Academy’s Communications team and will be primarily responsible for managing a portfolio of social media accounts and providing support in the creation of promotional materials, research, and web support.


Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating the creation of promotional materials (Academy newsletters, Membership Monthly, eBlasts, web content, digital signage, print materials)
  • Execution and deployment of marketing and social media strategies across all brands
  • Compiling social media statistics and web analytics
  • Assist in the coordination of paid media on Google & Meta, UTM codes/tracking
  • Ideation and deployment of editorial and promotional content on our brands’ social media accounts and act as the team lead on community management.is
  • Providing social media coverage at events for the Academy, Prism Prize, and the MVP Project
  • Performing support on regular website updates, maintenance, and support of Academy.ca
  • Supporting various Canadian Screen Awards-related projects

Qualifications:

  • Strong writing and proofreading skills and high attention to detail
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Experience managing social media in a professional setting
  • Computer skills:
    • Microsoft Office Suite / Google Drive Suite / Asana;
    • Knowledge of Squarespace / Wordpress / HTML / CSS coding an asset;
    • Knowledge of desktop publishing programs such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Canva, Microsoft PowerPoint is an asset;
    • Knowledge of video editing software (Final Cut, Adobe Premiere, CapCut, etc.)
  • Strong graphic/web design skills
  • Passion for social media, with knowledge of best practices and strategy
    • Experience with Meltwater, hashtags, paid campaigns, and analytics is an asset
  • Ability to work independently as well as cooperatively in a team environment
  • Ability to work proactively and to be resourceful in a fast-paced environment under daily deadline pressures
  • Knowledge of the Canadian screen industry (including film, television, and digital media)
  • University or college graduate and/or experience in the field of Communications and/or within the screen industry
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Bilingualism an asset


START DATE: Immediately (August/September 2024)

SALARY: $41,000 - $48,000 per annum

Office hours are Mondays to Fridays, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. A minimum commitment of 40 hours/week. Evening work will be required for special events throughout the year and during Canadian Screen Week.  At this time, Canadian Academy staff members are working full-time remotely from home but will be required to attend in-person events when needed.
